THE BIG LAUNCH !!!!!!!!
SEE SAW

We have just Launched See Saw for our senior infants . It is an interacitve platform which will greatly enhance our learning at home . Everybody should have recieved a code with clear instructions on how to join See Saw. We hope to see you all over there !!! Please take the time to join us .
What is See Saw ?
Seesaw is a platform for student engagement. Teachers can empower students to create, reflect, share, and collaborate. Students “show what they know” using photos, videos, drawings, text, PDFs, and links. It’s simple to get student work in one place and share with families, and nothing is shared without teacher approval.
Hello Everyone !!!!
We all hope that you and your family are safe and well. We will be updating our Senior infant webpage throughout our stay at home. We hope you enjoy it !
Please remember we are not website experts !! If you have any problems or suggestions please let us know (send an email).

Recently we have being encouraging the children to write their own sentences without any guidance from us. Using these photos below as a guide, see can your child write the news. They can use photo no.2 to look for words that might help them create their own senescent

Dolch Words
In Senior Infants this year, we will be learning to read the Pre primer and Primer list of Dolch words. Click on the image below to play some interactive games that will help you learn these words.

What are Dolch Words?
Dolch words are high frequency English vocabulary commonly used to teach children to read. Learning to recognize them automatically can facilitate fluency in reading.
Think of the most common English articles, prepositions, conjunctions, adjectives, adverbs and verbs (a, and, away, big, blue, can, come, down) and you’ll get a good idea of the list.Who can benefit from Dolch words?Dolch words, also known as sight words, account for between 50-75% of all vocabulary found in Primary reading material.

Self Potraits !!!
We drew some self portraits. We took our time and worked very hard. We are going to put them up in our classroom to make a nice gallery.
Class Mascots
Each Senior Infant class has their own mascot. In Senior Infants 1 he is called Devlin and Senior Infants 2 he is called Dudley. Devlin and Dudley get to go home with the star of the week. They both have their own book, where all their adventures are recorded.
